Dr. Burkett's training follows: BA, Washington University St. Louis; Doctor of Medicine, MD from Uniformed Services University; Family Medicine Residency at Malcolm Grown Medical Ctr; Aerospace Medicine- Flight Surgeon USAF School of Aerospace Medicine- Brooks AFB; and completed his MBA at Western Governor’s University. He is currently Board certified in Family Medicine (since 1994) and is the Medical Director at Alliance Medical Ministry, Raleigh NC since 2021. He is also a Public Health Advisor for the DHH/ASPR/Region 3 and has held roles from lecturer to Associate Professor to Medical Chair at Johns Hopkins, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and National Defense University, respectively. He was previously Physician Colonel in the US Air Force. In the last 2 years, Dr. Burkett has been most interested in becoming involved in clinical research with his AMM team, to include underserved/underrepresented patients, as PI for 2 clinical studies (T2DM, ASCVD).
