Stephanie Schorr graduated George Mason University with a BS in Global and Community Health with a concentration on Clinical Sciences in 2019. During college Stephanie traveled to Israel, Palestine, Austria, Mexico, Hungary, and the Czech Republic to learn about healthcare in different countries. After graduation, she moved to Charleston, South Carolina as part of the Teach For America program and taught Special Education in North Charleston. After three years of teaching, she became a research coordinator at the Medical University of South Carolina. Stephanie focuses on Cardiothoracic surgery clinical trials within the Department of Surgery. She is currently in the process of completing her Master of Public Health from William Paterson University. Stephanie experienced burnout during teaching through the Covid pandemic and is eager to help others feel supported and empowered. She has combined her interests of teaching and patient advocacy to help create a patient focused department at MUSC.
