Sharleen Traynor, PhD, MPH

Sharleen is a research professional and educator with 20 years of experience in government and academic settings. She is an applied epidemiologist by training, and her research interests focus on behavioral interventions and other strategies to improve health outcomes for persons living with HIV, HCV, and substance use disorder. A teacher at heart, her career is now focused on education and workforce development. Currently, she is the Director of the Clinical Trials Research Associate program at Durham Technical Community College. She oversees the training and education of students pursuing careers in clinical research and works closely with industry partners to support the development of a competent, diverse, and patient-focused generation of clinical research professionals.
